Control of attention The ability to manage your attention and concentrate over extended periods of time, despite distractions

Affective intelligence The ability to regulate your emotions and moods to get the best possible performance
'Knowing the ropes' Understanding how to exercise influence fairly in situations you work in.

These qualities can normally be developed through education, coaching and good management.

Assessment and identifying sources of stress



Stress can be slippery as well as costly. Valid assessment it a necessary first step to controlling it well. We always use well-validated questionnaires for this purpose.

If stress is work-related, a more complex assessment may be needed in order for the employer to comply with the Health and Safety Executive's Approved Code of Practice of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.
