Health hazards easily overlooked in many contexts
| From a legal perspective, every employer has a responsibility under the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations to restrict exposure to hazardous substances and to conduct regular surveillance of occupational health of all employees. This means identifying sources of potential risks to their health and taking reasonable care to prevent ill-health by hazardous substances. | ![]() |
Part of a contract for service
As part of the annual contract for service that we provide to organisations, compliance with CoSHH is included. We tailor our service to the specific situation and include specialist services of a chartered chemist if need be.
The scope of our service includes doing what it takes to enable the employer to fulfil their responsibilities by:
- assessing the risks to health from chemicals and decide what controls are needed;
- using those controls and make sure workers use them;
- making sure the controls are working properly;
- informing workers about the risks to their health;
- educating managers and workers to high standards of compliance with the controls.
