Elements of career managementt

The elusive problem

We share the view that psychological problems experienced by many people attempting to understand their career concerns, and to act on them, have too often been overshadowed or even perhaps somewhat neglected. Too often, the individuals involved tend to take a very short-term, if not brusque approach: 'I just aant the facts. Give me the inforamtion!', rather than weigh up what kind of information is most appropriate to their needs.

To serve these people effectively, we need to offer a personalised process of assessment is required. They need a rounded understanding of the issues they experience, with senstivity to their emotional needs as well as task-centred issues inherent in any process of change.
