Mid-career and late-career specialist help
Waves of change have obliged people in mid- and late- stages of their careers to be adaptive to a degree that few have adequately anticipated.
Changes in technology, knowledge management and global trading broke the mould of the careers in the middle quarters of the twentieth century. Information and assessment centre technologies create different styles of communication in job markets at all levels. And the global recession of recent years added to the pressures in finding suitable work and in being adequately competitive.
Since 1983, we have accompanied thousands of adults, at all levels of organisations, through the challenges of career entry and adaptation, of communicating in job markets and, in some instances, of overcoming effects of injury or illness.
Developing career possibilities
'Normal' career avenues start with possibilities that are more-or-less open for development, by individuals with commitment and hope. Our contribution lies in helping you to recognise sources of uncertainty and risk, and to weigh them up, as well as to make connections between possible goals and the practical conditions in which you are right now.
Our experience has included helping people diagnosed as having 'invisible' ddisabilities - including 'dyslexia', 'dyscalculia' and musculo-skeletal disorders - to figure out suitable possibilities and to negotiate avenues of entry and attainment.
What we can do with you
- Independent, in depth and rounded assessment;
- Constructive feedback, with numerical indicators, in language you can readily grasp;
- Empathetic and balanced discussion to enable you to hear, and take on board, the full picture of light and shade, immediate and longer-term perspectives.
Incisiveness and a bias towards action
For over quarter of a century, we have served people at all levels of many kinds of organisations to manage their careers, with incisiveness, empathy and a bias towards action.
We are pleased to continue to provide the psychological assessment and career guidance that enables people to respond resiliently to difficulties and to manage career risks smartly through rounded self-awareness.
Licensed to use all leading psychometric instruments, we select those most suited to needs of each individual client. And in providing feedback, we take career to enable each to assimilate assessment information about personality strengths and blind spots, about their experience, abilities and the balance of motives they bring to their work.
Our approach to coaching about searching for opportunities and about communication on paper and in person is based on relevant market research and on research about communication. All coaching is angled to needs of each individual with the support of video and audio analysis. This enables each individual to appreciate their capability to negotiate, often much better than they imagined possible.
Negotiating at work
It can be very tough at work if you feel power is stacked against you and that you are under duress to work more than your fair share or to otherwise comply with unfair conditions. Organisational and society's cultures may suggest that you 'put up with it' or 'get out', yet you may not be in a position to move on or to make a legal claim for compensation for unfair or constructive dismissal.
Fortunately,there are other options available to you based on learning to negotiate fulfillment of your rights. It starts with readiness to learn to negotiate.
You may be happily surprised by what you can learn to achieve along this route.
